Hi StyleForum people,

My wedding is over! I'm happily married to my beautiful wife. Now, back to business of menswear.

I'm actually glad with my 3-piece MTM tuxedo. Really had to do MTM to get my favorite configuration - peak lapels, midnight blue, low waist coat. I'm certainly keeping my tuxedo. Nonetheless, in the continual pursuit of fitting perfection, please comment on how my tuxedo fits so I can make improvements going forward.

My take - jacket length still slightly too short, maybe lengthen by 0.5". And the dreaded pulling of clothe, forming an x, at the jacket button, seems to appear quite a bit. Maybe lengthen shoulders or waist by 0.5". Or actually okay because it's fine when I relax my shoulders.

- Dreaded X are jacket button okay

- See the pulling of cloth at the jacket button. Okay since I'm pulling back my shoulders?

Thank you for the advice.

Cheers,
Donny

I'm not sure 0.5" is enough for the jacket.

A photo from the back would help, if you have one.

I'm 5 foot 7 and I believe the jacket length is 29". Looks like 30" is ideal.

Here are photos of the back. Gosh, didn't notice the fabric being pulled from all angles.

I really can't tell, but if it doesn't cover your ass, it's too short.

I am unable o give you a reliable assessment based on the pictures you provided.

Full length pictures taken at with no angle and neutral poses is what we need.

Photos of you in motion wearing the tuxedo are not helpful, generally speaking.

My best guess isn't that the waist is too tight, but that your shoulders are too sloped for the jacket. You can generally tell this by the diagonal creasing from the armpit to the collar on the back.

Also, you need to lower the collar probably and potentially let out the back between the blades (again, hard to tell w/o a neutral stance)

Finally, I'm not sure but you may have stooped posture which is causing some tension on the button as you hunch over and the creasing you see. I'm willing to bet if you learn to stand up straight you'll resolve a lot of that creasing. I had a client with similar fit issues once and told him, "You're still young. Stand up straight, at least for the wedding photos!"
