Fit advice - single vent sportcoat

Looking for some fit advice on this new sport coat I got tailored. Unfortunately I think I got the length altered a bit too short so nothing I can do there. Hopefully some of you will reassure me it’s not too short but I have a feeling it is. My main concern is the single vent area in the back. Regardless of any single vented sport coat I put on, whether they are significantly oversized or tailored to me, I always get some flare and the vent never falls down perfectly. Is this a common issue people face? I played soccer all my life so I do have more of a developed lower body than most folks. Wondering if that may be the cause. Am I paying too much attention to this detail? Or is it normal to not have the vent fall down straight ?Thoughts

hard to tell from a static photo, but it looks like your buttoning point may be above your natural waist. this might not solve your... unique problem but it's something you want to watch out for

Looks like there are a couple of issues happening at once. Yes, the jacket is too short and that is causing that flare. The shoulders are also too wide which shows as excess fabric in the front chest and back shoulders. I don't think this is worth getting fixed (not sure it's even possible).

Overall it is not a good fit. Next time try a longer but narrower cut.

the jacket length itself is a little too short but not horribly so. However another result of shortening the jacket is that the pockets are now visually too low. The length of the jacket is not the reason for the center vent flaring. You need some more room in the hips. If you want to try to salvage this jacket, ask a tailor to let out the side vents to give you more room in the hips.

Spending more will just be throwing money away. Aside from length issue and the vent, the backs of the arms are also a mess. Personally, I would write this off as a lesson learned.

I would recommend against trying to shorten a jacket.

FWIW, I think a double vented jacket is almost always more flattering than a single vented style.
