Looking for some fit advice. My fiance just received this Spier & Mackay suit and overall, we love it! This will be used for our June wedding in Minnesota. Thoughts on fit? I know we will need to get it tailored a bit. I think the jacket needs to be let out just a bit, sleeves and pants shortened... Thoughts?

From the front it looks fine. From the back it’s a bit of a hot mess.

It definitely has too much waist suppression, or rather the waist suppression is not occurring at the right point, so the break doesn’t look good. I’m not sure I’m describing it correctly so perhaps a tailor can offer more details.

From the back, also, the shoulders seem wide and there’s a lot of pooling under the cap.

Thank you! Is this something a tailor could rectify fairly easily, instead of ordering a different sized suit?

yeah, I don’t know. That’s technical stuff that only a tailor could comment on.

perhaps if @Despos has a moment he could comment and offer his expert eye.

It looks like your partner is standing overly erect for the camera. Is he? If so, this will distort the back and sleeves, as he's pushing his shoulders back and ruining the pitch of the sleeves.

Have him stand naturally and then take a photo. Also, don't fasten the bottom button -- that button is not meant to be fastened on suits or sport coats.
