Fishtail back on tuxedo trousers?

I had my first meeting with Patrick today for my first Chan suit, a tuxedo. I was caught off guard when he asked me if I wanted a fishtail back on the trousers. I left the meeting saying yes, but I'm having second thoughts. I intend to only wear the trousers with braces. Is a fishtail a "classic" detail or will it look silly?

Also, even though I only intend to wear the trousers with braces, would you recommend still including button side tabs as well?

Fishtail back trousers are great! Suspenders functions the best with them. On a Tuxedo you never remove your jacket, and you won't be using the pants as odd trousers, so there's no reason not to get them.

You are lucky to have a tailor that knows how to make Fishtail back trousers.

I had them put on mine, and compared to wearing braces on a straight back, the fishtail is more comfortable.

Not a huge difference, but worth doing on any pair of trousers where you are certain you will always wear braces.

With trousers cut for braces, you may want an adjustment buckle on the back...
