I don't care that the Movado design is supposedly "iconic" it is hideous. That is just not an appealing watch IMO

I actually want to look at my wrist and see what time it is instead of second guessing with the Movado (I need visual reference, either lines or numbers.)

It's an iconic design that has been ruined by marketing. Not so ruined, and much cheaper as a design-oriented fake watch, is the Mondaine versions of the the Swiss railway clock:
