Hey everyone,

I'll try to sum this up the best I can.

30 years old, buying a suit for the first time for my wedding.
I have tried on a few suits, but each time I do I notice that the shoulders always look off.

I would go for a custom suit, but sadly my budget is kinda small ($300ish) which is why I was leaning towards getting a suit from "Nicks Menswear" due to a good wedding discount price.

The link below is what they had off the rack that "snuggly" fit.

My big question is this:
Because I am overweight, mainly in the stomach area, and don't have broad shoulders to compensate, will any off the rack suit I get have the big crease in the shoulder like this? Would tailoring be able to offset it enough to look better?

Thank you in advance.

I think Suit Supply has a line that now is about mid-3’s. So if you can be a bit above 300...

Indeed Suitsupply or Indochino you might be able to get something on a sale/steal in the $350 range.

In terms of the shoulder divot, for OTR that one isn't even that bad - I'd be more critical of how tight it is when buttoned. An MTM solution if you can bump up to the mid 3's will almost certainly come out at a better place.

Yes, I would try Suit Supply. Also, that looks to be an overly padded shoulder. A "soft" or natural Neapolitan shoulder treatment would not look like that. Just because you have girth does not mean you can't look great! I think body builders look terrible in their tailored clothing. Real guys can look real good with minor alterations.
