Hi, I've been lurking for a while and I have been convinced to get some custom shirts made. My question is which of the shirt makers commonly talk about on this forum I should start with. I have heard good things about CEGO on these boards and I know he is an active member, but I have also heard good things about Kabbaz shirts. What would everyone's advice be for a first time custom shirt buyer.

You have picked NY's most expensive and one of its most inexpensive. It is hard to compare them.

BTW, there are other options in the city.

Yeah I realized the price difference after I posted which is why I changed the thread title. However, my question still stands I guess. Where would be the best place to go for a first timer like me.

It seems it matters less whether it is your first time ordering custom shirts, and much more what your preferences and expectations are. Generally, you have to pay more for finer fabrics, more meticulous workmanship, and more attentive service. If you just want a shirt that fits better than something off the rack, you don't need to spend so much.

As a "first timer," how many shirts do you need, what are they for, do you prefer to use one shirt maker to fulfill your needs, or would you prefer to try two or three in the city and what is your price range? It's possible for you to get the same quality shirt, construction wise, in a $150 shirt and a $250 shirt, assuming same fabric. Better fabric will cost you more wherever you go.
