First time buying Ray Ban Wayfarers, some advice please?

Hi All,

I have had my eye on a pair of classic Ray Ban Wayfarers for some time now. I have never bought an expensive pair of sun glasses before so just looking for some advice.

Due to the restrictions in retail I cannot go into a store and try on a physical pair of sun glasses so I will be buying the sun glasses online.

- Do think it is wise to buy a pair of sunglasses like Wayfarers online without trying them on? (I think the standard size will be ok).

- Is the Pantoscopic tilt on the classic Wayfarer as dramatic, uncomfortable and unfunctional as some people make it out to be? (Would the Wayfarer ease be a better choice?)

- Any other general buying advice I should be made aware of?

Thanks a million for you time,
Declan.

Wayfarers are an iconic sunglasses design that everyone thinks will look good on them, but which almost never do. My advice would be to not buy them at all. Alternatively, do not buy them unless and until you've had an opportunity to try them on and see if they really work for you. If you choose to buy them anyway, make sure the place you buy them from has a good return policy.

The Wayfarer style is iconic and produced by multiple manufacturers and brands. Ray Ban is the most obvious choice, but there are others.

In the end, sunglasses need not just be stylish, but need to be functional. They need to fit and provide you with proper coverage.

Did you follow this for sizing?

As Andy mentioned, I'd make sure of their return policy just in case. I'm not a huge fan of them personally, so to each their own.

Whatever version you buy, if you're buying for functionality and drive a vehicle often, I would get polarized. Properly designed polarized lenses make a huge impact on glare.
