    Hello!

I recently purchased two suit jackets in different sizes from J Crew because they didn't have any to try on in the store near me. I figured I'd just return the one that wan't in the proper size and get the other one tailored to an exact fit. Before I go to a tailor, I'd just like to get you guy's opinions (not sure I trust the tailors in my area haha).

    Here are the suits:

    Thanks in advance!

Why did you get one R and one S? The 36 looks like it might fit you better, but it's too short.

    Its a long story.

Basically while I was in the store I tried on one of their Blazers in 36s (since they didn't have actual suits), bought the suit jacket online based off of that, and ended up having second thoughts about the length. Since there was a limited time sale going on I just went ahead and bought the longer jacket and figured I'd return the one i didn't like haha

Anyways now that I have both I can't really decide which one to keep as they both seem slightly off in different ways

Yeah, don't think I would keep either of them.

You could tailor the 36S, but it is too short to me. If you have a good tailor, you can ask about lengthening the body. I would probably just return both and find something that fits better off the rack...but that's just me.

you can not lengthen the body of a suit.

shortening is even a bad idea.
unless your tailor is really good.
