Hi all. First time poster, long time lurker here.

I’ve finally pulled the trigger this week and bought my first pair of decent shoes, I went for a full brogue in black as I figure it’s versatile enough for both work and home.

Ive been scouring eBay for a good deal and come out with a pair of churchs parkstone in black.

Received them today only to notice what appears to be a minor defect, visually not a concern however I’m looking to the forum for advice on if it may be a problem structurally as I don’t want to get a month in only for them to start falling apart.

Basically under the heel on the left foot there is what appears to be a tear where the upper is sewn to the heel. There is white showing around the threaded area and what looks like a slight tear going off just to one side. It’s hard to get a photo and the flash makes it more noticeable. Aesthetically I don’t care as you can’t see it but being unsure how these things are held together I’m hoping someone more knowledgeable can tell me if this means it might come away from the heel in time. There is also some slightly off shape to the heel pad internally as pictured below, unsure if a sign that the seller may have tried to stretch the shoe maybe the reason for sale/price.

It was sold as brand new, there’s minor creasing but no other sign of wear as also pictured, price was good so I’m fine so long as someone can reassure me they’re not going to be falling apart on me because of this..

Thanks,

DB

I think I'd be ok with those as long as they were priced as seconds.
