I actually had it taken in a bit at the sides, and the top button moved, but the tailor said that if he took it in anymore that the back would look like a tail and the only way to bring it in more would be to close the vents which I don't think is a good idea.

Any advice? Thanks.

Hard to tell much with these photos. I mean, I can't see your pants. What I do know, though, is that I'll have an old fashioned followed by the surf and turf. And make it snappy.

There doesn't seem to be anything so egregiously wrong that it shows through in these pics, but it really is hard to tell, especially with the stilted posture required by taking a self portrait via phone.

I like to show a little shirt cuff, so for me I'd say the suit sleeves are a hair long, though.

The shoulders have a massive overhang. Invest no more money on this suit.

I actually think it might be because the dress shirt I'm wearing doesn't have long enough sleeves, but I agree the cuff should be showing.

ehhh, that's a little harsh and blunt, the suit that was one size smaller was too small and tight around the shoulders, you could clearly see my shoulders poking out. I have broad shoulders and long arms, making suits hard to fit.

This.
I think the suit is one or two sizes too big.
Where did you get it tailored? The tailor should have noticed this problem. A good tailor won't work on an item they know won't fit their customer.

You look young. The shoulders are too big for you and are giving you this weird slope. Go down a size or two. instead of a regular try a short.

Well can't really give it back since it's already been tailored, damn, now I don't even want to go out in public in this suit, I guess the only option is to hit the gym and try to fill it out more. Waste of money, horrible feeling.

The fit isn't bad and the length looks fine from the photos. Shoulders are a bit big but don't let that stop you from wearing it.

The shoulders are a bit big, but seriously 98% of people would never notice. This is light year's ahead of what many men wear on a daily basis.

Thanks to you both, definitely makes me feel better. I am only 20 and this is my first suit, I'll make sure not to make this mistake again in my next 60+ years of buying suits.

Spend the money in updating the bathroom instead.

Agree with many that the shoulders do look protruding more than the norm. However, if you check out the recent Ralph Lauren thread, it could be a trend.

Nothing terribly wrong with the suit, shoulders look a tad big but the posture / pictures could mess with how it looks. However, this:

is off the mark. The sleeves end right about where the shirt sleeves should end. In fact, they may even be a tad long for that to be true. They are clearly too long. Unless you have working cuffs, this can be resolved easily, so don't worry.
