Hi,

I've worked in offices for 20 years (in IT) and generally jist bought cheap off the shelf machine washable suits from M&S etc as I rarely wear the jacket and the trousers wear quickly from daily use, train commuting etc. However working in the investments industry more recently I'm working with business people who are wearing reasonably expensive and better quality suits and shirts than me, I'm also potentially starting a new job in the next few months which is also a move up to management level. So I'm thinking it's time to invest in a much better suit and probably a few shirts as well. I find it hard to get decent fitting off the shelf ones as well because I'm slightly overweight and quite short. Trousers with a comfortable waist but short enough legs are often quite baggy and jackets that fit my chest and waist well are generally too long overall and in the sleeves.
Ideally I'd go for a tailor made one or at least a well fitting off the shelf one if I can find one. I work near Jermyn street so obviously looking at places there or Oxford street? Hackett seem to have good reviews. I'd like some recommendations for shops and also is the following a good basic idea for a nice daily office suit that's smart but not too over the top showing off? I usually wear white or light blue shirts, sometimes a subtle pattern and not always with a tie if thats a factor in suit style choice -
Single breasted 2 button jacket, jetted pockets, side vents and standard notched lapel, either charcoal or dark blue.

Thanks, I saw Edit mentioned there a couple of times, their shop is fairly close to my office and they do a bespoke service, and I've definitely come across Steed searching through reviews although they're higher end.
