It sounds ok, better wait for Mr. Depos because he is an actual tailor. His advise is always very useful

Hi Mr Despos, My tailor is working on the front edge issue. Just now I measured the front overlap and is actually 17cm. Is that sufficient? Thank you.

17 cm is more than I expected. You want the buttons to be 4 1/2 inches apart horizontally for your size. Adjust the overlap for that. It looks like the tailor pulled the fronts over instead of letting fall together naturally. More important is that the front edge is straight.

Thanks for the advice. As for the buttons you mean the distance between the lower and upper button? As for the distance between left and right row of buttons, I opted for 5 1/2 inches. Will that be ok? There will be some major adjustment be done to the jacket. When I tried the jacket just now, the front actually falls together naturally and reasonably straight, though the tailor will adjust further.

No, I mean the distance measured horizontally across the front, not vertically. 5 1/2" is what I usually do across horizontally and 5" apart vertically . The 4 1/2' spacing was adjusted for your size. With that button spacing you need to lower the middle button about an inch maybe more, could judge better after seeing the new length.

I just notice that the two pockets has already been cut. If I were to move the middle and lower buttons further down, will it be ok? Thanks.

Alright. One more thing, is the middle button suppose to be exactly in the middle of the total length of the jacket?

No, lower and about 1" lower than you would button a single breasted jacket. This is a generalization, would be more specific to the individual

Hi there, my jacket has been adjusted after taking consideration of all the members here especially Despos. The length has been increased by 1in, lapel has been widen, sleeve slightly shorten and button lowered. The lapel shape has been drawn with pencil on one side, hope to receive some feedback. Thank you.

Mr. Ng, that suit looks a lot better. The extra length, wider lapels and the straight/vertical front all make a huge difference, especially if you compare the before (one of the pics from your 3rd or 4th post). Looking good.

Is the length ok now? I feel there isn't much different.
