What do you guys pay to get pant hemmed? I've paid as little at $10, more recently $18. But what makes me post this is that my current girlfriend's father owns a tailoring shop, and he charges $35. I'm just wondering what is standard?

I paid $20 IIRC to have pants hemmed and cuffed with a taller cuff than the tailor wanted to do. He's an idiot, I won't be going back, but the pants look good.

I think that the standard is between $10 and 15 at a drycleaning place. There are outliers, of course. I used to go to a perfectly serviceable place that charged $8, and a place recommended to me on Newbury Street in Boston charged $20 for an absolute crap job. $35 to get your pants hemmed? MikeC, you've got to learn the art of the hustle from your current girlfriend's father.
