I'm looking for excellent flatware as a gift to someone who had their beautiful house burglarized. This lady was sort of a mentor to me as a kid and recently suffered the loss of her husband and a disastrous mismanagement by financial advisor of the money her husband left her. Shortly after this, her house was robbed while she was away. Things are going to be ok but I decided that I'd like to get her a stunning set, since she loves to entertain.
Money isn't terribly important. Should I go antique or new? Please give me your suggestions, and the reason for the gift is a little personal so let's just keep it on the topic of finding something excellent. If it helps, she lives in a large Georgian house in CT, so I wouldn't be looking for some really contemporary stuff.
Thanks for any help.
