Im still new to the "looking decently well dressed, and being a pompous ass about it" scene, but I'm really enjoying it.

For the last while, Ive been looking for a good, but not over expensive (300 dollars is my upper limit...) double monk strap. I dont like cap toes, or to much brogue. I love the cognac colored shoes, or brown shoes with alot of antiquing. On shoe thats been recommended to me several times in the AE Mora double monk, but Im not a fan of how thin and useless the actual straps are, or at least look. It may be just on that shoe in particular, but the straps looked rather unattractive.

Now, I know this post is rather vague, but any recommendations people have are really appreciated.

Thanks;
L.R.

L.R.:

I am in a similar situation. I was just directed to the Crockett & Jones Lowndes. Usually purchased for around $300 new on ebay.

I have the double buckle monk strap boot from Polo (probably C&J). It's rather cool if you can find it.

I've had no complaints about my monks from Thin Red Line / Alfred Sargent, although you'd have to find someone willing to part with theirs I suppose. The Lowdnes are
