Does anyone know how Finamore compare to Barba, was all set to buy the barba but its on ebay (from Ian Daniels) but there is a finamore thats not. Which is a better constructed and fitting shirt (i need slim fit). Also which one use better clothes and has more handwork? Heres the finamore i'm looking at

I own both, they are all slim fit and handiwork is all over. To me its always come down to collar and pattern. If you like both on one brand more than the other go with it, you won't be displeased.

Both are identical. Both are white and french cuff which is what i'm looking for. So its all on quality now. I think i remember hearing there are different levels of quality in finamore depending on label (think this is true for Barba) does anyone know which one this is or any idea of the amount of handwork?

I don't know about quality, but shirts with Barba labels with text written in gold have more handwork than shirts with Barba labels written in black.

I have some Finamore with differing levels of handwork as well, but not quite the same tell tale sign.

Ian Daniels has commented on this. Barba has three levels: black label, gold label and Buonamassa. Finamore has different levels but you can't tell from the labels. Fit is very similar; both are slim fitting.
Both are great shirts if they fit.

I was just looking at those sizes. Too bad...the sleeves on all of those shirts seem insanely long.

They turn out alittle shorter my Finamore that i decided on ended up working perfect even though it was listed as a 34"

I just bought a Buonomassa shirt from Ian. For some reason, I had thought it was AM's highest line.. Not sure how I led myself to think that and I questioned myself when I didn't see her name anywhere on the materials/ tags..

Shirt is amazing, seems to be completely handsewn from some insanely awesome fabric. Buttons are high quality, but not super thick like altoids from Borrelli. It's a bit too slim so unfortunately, its going back.

IIRC, the black-labeled Finamore has significantly more handwork (hand-sewn collars, shoulders, buttonholes). Now that Borrelli MTM isn't an option in the US any longer, have been considering the Finamore MTM route. I just can't stomach the price point.

Have many of both. In general, Finamore shirts feel more formal. Prefer Barba, more relaxed. Softer look/feel. Also, different buttons. Finamore buttons are flat/tight. Barba buttons are close to Borrelli. Big. Outward.

As far as the Barba is concerned, the tag that has the white text over a black background is slimmer than the black text over a white background. When I say slimmer, it's reeeaaallly slim.

first of all, Ian doesnt always get the sleeve lengths right. Second, Finamore is suuuch a better shirt than Barba or Borrelli or Fray. I am 6'2" 180 these shirts are perfect. Nothing compares. Nothing. I have a large collection (7 so far this month) of panties to prove it, not to be vulgar...
