Finally some validation

So... I've been working on a line called Rokara for the better part of this year. LA Guy has asked me to post some pics of the line and frankly I've been aprehensive to post for you all. The taste level is extremely high here, rightly so!, I share a similar appreciation for many of the brands mentioned on this forum.

We had a great mention in Rolling Stone, If I haven't screwed up the link check it out. Just please bare in mind we are not striving to be the next RPM 45, RB, Nudie, Acne, Engineered Garments etc....

Rolling Stone is good press. so looking at the product and trying to evaluate my thoughts, i'd say that jacket falls under the "killer" category. not to be confused with "sick" or "ill".

Hmmm, that is an interesting jacket. Is the hoodie part removable and wearable on its own? If so, kudos. I've seen too many of the non-removable faux hoodies in blazers/M65s/biker jackets even at Urban Outfitters.

I'm going to take a look when I am in LA in early December. That particular jacket isn'r really my style, but I'd like to see the level of attention to construction. Whether the neckline stays in place (i.e. does not droop or flap open or sag) when the zipper is undone is usually the litmus test for me.

The hood and C.F. panel is removeable.

The upmost issue for me is fit, construction and sew quality. Of course the aesthetic is important but it means nothing if it has a ****** sew and the fit is off!.

Congrats on the press. Is it a take on the Members Only jacket? It's not my style, but I'd be interested if you can make other jackets at the same price point and level of quality. Good luck with your line.

Now that I know how to link pics I'll shoot the jacket mixed in with some of my own wardrobe.

The jacket is a take on traditional biker jackets of the fifties and sixties. I've been wearing the Black version with a Black pair of Acne Max Cash. It works well as a winter jacket for us So Cal folks.

I agree completely, and would add material and trim quality to that. I think that the ubiquitous M65 is probably the best example. Everyone is making one. But the difference between the Nom de Guerre model I saw yesterday and the GAP M65 is enormous. The GAP version would fit like a sack on pretty much anyone, with dropped shoulders and absolutely no structure through the chest and shoulders, and with a sack like body. The material is a mediocre cotton canvas in an unremarkable olive color. The stitching is shoddy, with dropped stitches a plenty, and not at all tight. The Nom de Guerre version is made of a black/charcoal wool herringbone and fully lined, has interesting geometric details on sleeve with a snap at the edge of the cuff that requires that the production be precise (or else it would look sloppy). The fit is terrific, slim, but not exaggerately so, and dead on length for a 5'11" guy. There is structure through the shoulders and body, and the neckline is well reinforced to keep its shape. While the price is debatably too high at $560, the piece is definitely worth considerably more than the GAP version.
