nice. there is still a vacant spot in the baller sneaker sizing matrix under "ann Demeulemeester"

    whos gonna fill it??[IMG]

seriously, how do ann d sneakers fit? i get the impression that they are wide all over:/
i like the velcro strap ones too. the grey colour is nice, sort of a charcoal and not totally black, not totally grey

I bought a pair from Gilt that I ended up returning. I managed to get the sizing right though, thanks to someone here (I don't remember who). Anyways, my Ann D size (low top sneakers) is the same size as I wear in MMM lows. I fit a 44 in both ideally, which is also TTS for me. The Ann D's were pretty wide, yeah, and super comfortable.

Prada, Burberry, and Louboutin have all done massive everything-studded sprees in the last few seasons. Why is it still going (and why are people still buying)? (For the record, I haven't seen any footwear from Burberry with "studs," precisely, but they did a bunch of riveted hardware-laden sandals and such for SS11) It also disconcerts me that the "studded version" of anything is always far more expensive than the regular version -- not because this is sterling silver hardware we are talking about, but because the consumer has been inured to the extra costs associated with anything "embellished." For instance, Burberry Prorsum S/S'11 on LVR has a fairly nice
you pay for labour. unless there is a machine that magically fastens studs automatically... then i have no idea.

Yeah, studs are hand placed. Not hard to put in, but you can outsource that job to the vendors sometimes. They have nothing better to do all day anyway, so they do studding for a small cost. Press-in pyramid and conical studs are cheap; long spikes with screw bases are expensive, like $1/each. That's a lot of money in terms of material cost.
