dbss seriously makes the worst looking shoes I've ever seen. ****, is it a bandwagon thing, brand loyalty, or do you guys ACTUALLY find that appealing?

I'm on board with the basic DBSS high-tops but those are just too tall for me, I think they're ugly. But I also think these equally tall Marc Jacobs high-tops are even worse: $590 @ Ssense

I remember hearing about Diabro doing that; I even bought a shirt from them once but I can't remember if they declared the full value or not or whether I got dinged by customs. Do you know for a fact that OkiNi will mark down the value? I had to pay a hefty customs fee on the last pair of shoes I bought from them (and I didn't know I could email them about VAT so I paid list price

) so this is really tempting, but I feel as though it would be really uncomfortable to ask them that as it's illegal and they're an established business (even lots of individual eBay sellers won't and post disclaimers about it). Now that I think about it, how would it even work? On eBay they can just write a made-up number on the customs slip and stick that on the package, but for a store product there has to be an actual legit/correct invoice or receipt so you can get a refund/etc. if necessary.

The customs people here don't care if it's a gift or not. If its value including shipping cost exceeds the duty threshold (€45 / $65) then it is eligible for tax. Also all goods, new or used, imported into the EU from outside the EU are subject to customs duty.

e.g. in Finland
baller sneakers $300
shipping $60
Add 12% import duty on clothing $43
total $403
Add 23% VAT + $92,69
total $495

you know, just could be said about any sort of shoe posted here. Omg its a "bandwagon' thing. DBSS hasn't even gotten enough praise to even warrant such a comment anyways. Not to mention there aren't people buying them in droves *cough cough* I'd say they are really hard to pull of shoes, which beg a lot from its wearer.

Does anyone here have a good eye for color? What would you say these are? http://www.mrporter.com/product/300559 More of a white or a beige color? I cant seem to make it out properly or cant tell if its just heavily contrasted or the lighting or something because the pic with laces looks really off. Its described as off white just like the following http://www.aloharag.com/highseas/pro...GPIBODDGLIOHJA http://www.ln-cc.com/maison-martin-m...nvt/mmm031wht/ http://www.ln-cc.com/maison-martin-m.../mmm010040cem/ But these ones look more noticeably white. Are they basically the same shoes as those? Has anyone purchased the mr porter ones before?

More of a white. Just like the original army trainers.

Hey RFX, how do you like your suede silent high tops? I'm contemplating getting the black pair, you think a 43 would be good if i wear a 10 in chucks?

^ Yes 43 would be good and general consensus is that it is a pretty decent shoe for the money.
