I don't find Lanvins that "chunky".

Tucked in and it doesn't seem too bulky.

Same with the boat shoes (yes I was wearing the same jeans). I just hate the laces on these, need to change em up.

    Hmm. Define "that chunky."

I have my definition but I was just replying to this response:

But as someone said before, they are chunky. I can't imagine wearing the lows with anything remotely slim. I like my Margielas (chuck-alikes and Austrian trainers alike), but find that CPs are a little more versatile, especially for travel.

I assumed he/they meant "clunky" or "not slim" and that is why I put them in qoutes. And to me, I do not find my pairs particularly "chunky".

I like Raf Simons sneakers but those look too much like Nike Vandals to me.
Except they're way cooler looking than Nike Vandals. Would rock that pair or an all white.

RFX - As nice as they are, they do seem to have a wide/chunkier sole bottom, at least for my tastes. I'm not sure if they are as or thicker than Spring Courts, but I know I own some Spring Courts that might be as thick in the sole as Lanvins that I only wear with shorts or jeans with a bit wider leg openings. I just prefer slimmer profiled sneaks and less sole thickness.

Robert - I can get down with Chucks, but they certainly aren't the end all/be all. I despise Jack Purcells though. I hate the goofy toe box.

Yeah I guess the midsole is a bit thicker than usual but overall, the whole shape and uppers is somewhat low profile. I have slimmer/low profile alternatives, which I might eventually post here, even if it is a non-SF approved label. [IMG]

OK, I will relent on my sneaker Nazism. I am willing to concede that there may be other viable choices.

Oh my god how did this thread go to shit so fast.

Does anyone else feel like these sneakers were a good idea with bad execution? The laced backs look pretty ballin' imo, but the shape of them just looks... horribly horribly wrong [IMG]

I'm not feeling the laces actually and the overall shape reminds me Creative Recreation. I like most of Dior Homme's silhouette though. Something about how they use grey just makes them look good to me.

Those diors look so much better in black, has a nicer silhouette imo.
