Generally, sleeves taken out will be very expensive, so don't bother with that.Filson Mile Marker Jacket.
I need some quick advice! I found a Mile Marker Jacket at a local store at a heavy discount. They only have one in stock. I tried it on and the body fits great but the sleeves feel a tad too short... anyone else own this jacket? What are your thoughts? Probably would be fine with a long sleeve shirt under it.... not sure if the sleeves can be taken out at all.
You could also send us a picture: it's much easier. ?Filson Mile Marker Jacket.

I’d agree - modifying sleeves is possible but often difficult due to the lining etc etc.Generally, sleeves taken out will be very expensive, so don't bother with that.
Try the jacket on with a sweater> do the sleeves rest at the beginning of your hand? Then it's fine. Otherwise they are too short.
It's crazy the ebbs and flows of how we feel about our Filson gear. That's a nice one - and probably my favorite Filson travel bag. That said, you now have me thinking of a 242 just to go full retro.Ok, my 48 hr duffle is for sale in UK / EU. First edition variant with inside stow pockets and leather pull tabs. Excellent condition. PM me for more pics etc if interested!

Maybe I'll sell my Medium Duffle (which I also love) and get one. I might be shot if I bring home another Filson bag.
The only thing I'd sorta worry about is the handle straps getting hung up on something, but the hardware, leather and materials on my VP briefcase as extremely beefy. No worries about the materials if I was checking a bag of the same build.I have the VP Weekender too and I love it, but I’d never check it. It’s strictly a carry on for me!

I have long arms and always struggle with sleeve length. Basically I live with it. If the sleeve comes to my wrist bone with arms by my side I consider it “good enough”.
So if the jacket is discounted enough and you like it otherwise then it’s probably worth it.

Me too - I never check bags unless I have to. I travel a lot, and the wait and the risk of loss aren't worth it.Yeah, I'm not worried about the materials failing... its just not really big enough to check IMHO and I like it too much to risk it getting damaged. Just a personal preference.
I have a black medium Mile Marker (with the moleskin liner). I like it more than even my Barbour International waxed jacket which I have had for years. There are a couple of reasons - it is longer (coat vs jacket); it doesn’t have built in insulation (more temp range with the MM with and without liner), and the pocket placement is superior.
It is a great cost for travel in any type of cooler temperatures (40-60F). I bought on sale so only had the black option. But I have grown to like the more neutral/urban color given that I am more likely to wear it in town and city. If I remove the liner, it folds up into a square that fits neatly into my duffle.
I tend to find sleeves more often long than too short so I guess my arms are relatively short relative to my height. The MM sleeve length fits well.
