This is a sad state of affairs. Sorry to hear about the car. Dang things! Now, if a car could only be made like a Filson bag, then we would be onto something. (Insert obligatory pre-Bedrock qualifications here to assuage OMG - ?)

Hang in there everyone. We can do this!

Also, Speedy, your cross is beautiful. I love it. Happy Mother’s Day to your mom. May she have many more.
Thanks! It was an odd occurrence, the rear brakes locked up. I had to drive about half a mile bc I was between a drop off and the lake on a backroad. Probably came close to having a different outcome for the car they got so hot. Pic is the rotors when I stopped.

They look like a Formula 1 car's carbon fiber brakes during a race!

Spending a week at my parents for this quarantine game. Decided on these two; I really missed using my #246, it carries so well on my shoulder or in my hand.

I’m happy to report that my twin brother has come home, and has been staying with us for going on two weeks. He went 7 months not talking to anyone, this time was the worst yet. He seems to be healing mentally and spiritually. Family is the perfect medicine he needed

Oh my gosh! That’s horrible. I’m glad it’s past you now. At least, I hope it is. That is some picture!

I missed this, the most important part, when I read your post last night, OMG. Your prior posts about your brother have broken my heart. I am so happy to hear he is there and things are improving. I hope that continues to be the case.

Thanks brother!!! Those words mean a lot to me. Crazy to think that I’ve only seen him 21 days in 2 years time. How did that happen. So many memories without him, including two Birthdays. This past week has felt more like a dream, even with all this chaos happening around us.

It’s been fun trying to repair. I replaced the pads and rotors just to get an idea of what happened. The seals in the calipers are a bit sticky so I ordered a rebuild kit for the calipers and am waiting. Haven’t looked at it in a week so i still haven’t found the underlying issue.

Great to hear about your brother, Otter. Good news - and may the relationships grow back and grow stronger.

I am totally missing using my Filson bags. Considering packing a bag just for the commute from the kitchen to my office upstairs.

That’s pretty funny! Yes, I’ve been toting a full XL outfitter around the house just to stay “Filson Fit”

@OtterMeanGreen - I too am really glad to hear that relations with your brother are improving. I hope that perhaps this odd time will be an opportunity for you to rebuild.

If I may: the piece I was working on for my Mum is now finished. As a pretty novice wood turner I very pleased.

That's beautiful, Speedy. While not a wood turner, I am a woodworker and have made several pieces with natural cherry. Nothing looks as good as it ages. Love it!

In fact, I made my mom a mirror out of cherry many, many moons ago and had totally forgotten about it until I was in her house a few months back and happened upon it. Good memories.
