I like it. But I think the new one is D and I concur it’s either a 260 or 261.

I have no clue! Given they are all Talon bags I can’t make any guesses based on the leather condition or colour. And the lengths are all pretty close so that doesn’t help much either!

Once I reveal it today, you might have a laugh at how obvious it all really was. But I'd like to have a few more guesses first, so have some fun with it guys . I've had this idea for about a week and put some time into the shots. Just write out the sequence you believe it is, i.e. 257, 264, ???, 246

Thanks to those that had a little fun with me here, it brought a smile to my face.

@TinMan3 was right on the money with my Mystery Filson, it was picture "B", good insight in the strap length.

@seven20 was close on two guesses, thanks for playing!!!

Here’s the correct sequence:

A. #246 MTB

Note the darkened leather which was a common of the late 90’s Talon Era.

C. #257

Note with its unique light brown leather, indicative of the mid 1990’s first editions. @Soletrane has referred to it as almost perfect...I tend to agree

D. #264 Original Compartment Case

Note the curvature of the handle, which is indicative of these wide Sportsman Bags.

B. Mystery Filson. Reveal coming soon

Note: Dependable USPS package handling at its finest. Luckily it's Rugged Twill and shrugged it off with style

I was excited to see your new bag, but it appears you have the Filson x USPS in limited natural and mackinaw red. While I do like red, this one is too boxy for me personally

I do think the patina on the USPS x Filson collab is one of the finest examples we’ve seen though.

Very true, however we do usually see nice patina in the more well traveled items

Don’t you think the cardboard quality has degraded over the years though? Used to be I could dogsled to Whitehorse on a well waxed piece of USPS card.

Is this a new Filson product? Apart from the Filson Boot Oil, last I remember, Filson sold Obenauf’s HDLP for leather care. (now sold out on website). Nice branding and the 3 current reviews are positive.

Ah yes, and back in the "Talon Tape" era those boxes were tough as nails. You had to really fight to get one open. Now, I hear that they switched to that cheaper tape. They might say they're made in Seattle still . . . but I bet it's "with imported materials".

I might have to reach out to GZ or TinMan to see if I can get one of those Filson x USPS collab pieces. I hear that GZ's got a whole closet full of those old ones. I just hope I can get that musty smell out.

Any one have an ideas how to get rid of the musty smell?
