Sure can, call the store on Monday.
.... When it came down to it, I went for the Large Carry On. It just felt a little sturdier to me.
Original Briefcase #70256
This is my daily bag that I carry to the office and school. I bought it new from Filson, and had the leather handgrip added for an extra $10 (by Filson).
Unlike a lot of Filson bags, this one has tons of organization. I like that Filson has started to put key clips into their bags. In the past I've had to have them added by my local cobbler. This bag has two flat pockets on the outside, and two tiny side pockets. I've actually found that the side pockets are great for carrying a pen in one and hand sanitizer (in a long spray tube) in the other. The tiny pockets are tight enough that I'll never lose the pen or sanitizer. Other than that, they are useless pockets.
Inside, there's a main compartment, two side compartments, and some small holders that I use for a wallet, pens, gum, chapstick, and my phone.
This bag is on the smaller side for Filson shoulder bags, but I wanted something a bit sleeker for work that I would not be tempted to over stuff (as thought would look less than sharp, in my opinion).
As shown, I can fit all the following inside:
legal pad / cases to read
Kindle in its case
AC adapter (in tan canvas bag)
blue canvas bag for small stuff (change, iPod, cords, etc.)
is cable car having a sale on filson items since they`re moving?
Being obsessed with Filson and navy blue, I was really excited to procure one of their new limited edition bags today.
If you are interested, PM me and I'll send you the info on how to get one.
As far as I know, the Red Label for Filson started out as a collaboration with Nanamica, the Japanese brand known for collaborations with classic American brands. They recently expanded the line, with the latest collaboration being with 14 oz Berlin. I contacted them to see if they would ship to the US, but alas they would not.
However, I recently found a way to get one, and at a decent price, from a reseller.
The bag on the left (medium field bag #70232) is the limited edition one, with only 30 pieces made. The bag on the right is from the Japanese Nanamica line, no longer available in blue, as far as I know.
^ those are so beautiful!! the 257 is a real nice bag. i get compliments all the time and I love it.
Took delivery of my first filson bag today- a 257 in otter green. I couldn't be happier! The leather is still really stiff, but seems to be full grain and of high quality. I was initially very concerned that the bag would be too big, but I think it is pretty standard briefcase size and good for traveling as a laptop bag. My 15 inch work dell with extended battery fits snugly.
I apologize for the washed out cell phone pic, the color is much richer in person
I'm sure this has been asked but I've went around 20 pages back and couldn't find it, or just looked over it.
But around what size laptop will a 257 fit?
Awesome color combination on the navy canvas and saddle leather.
I don't think so, not sure if it is necessary.
I just ordered the Pullman yesterday for a B'day present to myself. In Otter Green after all. I went for the slightly larger Pullman which I felt would be better for suit coats and sport jackets. Will likely get the Large Carry On also sometime soon. I'm not a big fan of duffel's and digging through bags which only open at the top with a straight line zipper and then trying to root around at O'dark thirty in a tent to find something. Which limits the choices in the end. Wish the Outfitter bag had a U shaped zipper on top, that would be high on my list also.
hmm..called but only got one ring then disconnect.
Does Filson ever go on sale? Thinking of getting the basic briefcase in tan. I can certainly afford the $210 but cheaper is always preferred.
I've been checking Ebay as well but so far I'm seeing mostly pre-owned field bags.
Yes. I paid around $180 for my 256 a couple of months ago.
Through the Filson site?
