All these Filson Bag are all great. .Generous space in a carry-on size.Whether it is in the belly of a float plane or on uncharted back roads, these highly water-repellent, compact bags will hold up. They are rugged companion is designed to ride comfortably at your side or on your hip like a mail pouch.

what's the consensus of putting patches on filson bags. like sewing patches of places you've been, would it ruin it?

this is for a travel bag (kind of like a duffel), not my 257.

I really don't understand why these are so well liked. I mean its just a canvas bag, and for that matter, one I would not be seen carrying while in a suit on the way to work. It may be good afield but otherwise not that impressive really.

Aside from the material, it's the cut. If you compare the styling with most other bags, it's superior. And it is made in the US. Piurchase of the Filson supports the US economy.

Hey everyone, I have tried to figure this out by looking/reading through this thread, but I have accepted that it is just better to ask for your help. I want to get a duffle/bag for my girlfriend and I to use on weekend trips. We would each have our own separate bags for electronics and toiletries, so this would mostly just be for clothes. The medium travel bag would be nice for the carry-on size, but I’m willing to get the medium duffle or large travel bag and check it if the medium travel bag won’t be large enough to fit both of our clothes for the weekend. Also, feel free to throw in recommendations of other bags in the same price-range. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks!

Is the 220 (small duffle) good for more than just an overnight stay?
    Much obliged in advance.

The 220 might be a little small for a weekend trip. I have the 222 (medium duffle) and it has plenty of space.

The medium duffle has served me well for three or four day trips. Things get pretty tight when packing for three or four days, but it can work. Realistically I would consider the medium duffle a "long weekend" bag for most people. I don't have experience with the small duffle, but knowing how the medium works for me, you could probably squeeze two nights out of the small duffle.

I have had a very bad shopping experience with Crane Country Store. I ordered a Filson 220 which they processed on 30th June. On 7th July I sent them a email asking for the tracking code. No reply. A few days after this I called the store and they said it should arrive the middle of the following week. At the end of that week, on 11th July the bag has not arrived. I asked them once more by email for the tracking code. No reply. On July 15th I remarked in an email that I still have not received the bag. No reply. Yesterday, I wrote to them "Can I please have the tracking code? The bag is still not here. I hope insurance was bought for this (no Flat Rate box)." No reply.

I am now in the process of disputing the charge they made to my credit card.

Where to buy Filson bag? I was going to buy from Crane's but I've read how one person got a bag on backorder and ^ got me worrying a little. I absolutely need it by the 26th. Should I just buy direct from Filson or is Crane's generally pretty good on getting the order to you in a few days.

I paid $40 for shipping to Malaysia where I am based. You would expect I would at least be informed of the tracking code. Completely ignoring the customer after he has paid (they were very responsive before they got my business) is not a tenable business model when most of your customers are online and read this thread.

Granted that they should have probably told you this or replied to you in some way, but if you're getting it internationally shipped to Malaysia, is a tracking code even useful? I've had lots of stuff ship from overseas, and never gotten a tracking code because these things get passed from one shipping service to another.

Anyway, Crane's has a representative here on StyleForum. That profile is here: http://www.styleforum.net/user/crane's . I would try messaging this person directly with your issue.

I like it... it's sorta like those old leather trunks having stickers from different destinations. I have sewn a few on my LL Bean Signature duffel, but then again, I'm into that kind of old-fashioned stuff. I like the stuff I buy to reflect me, and this is probably the only way to "personalize" your luggage. Besides, makes finding said luggage on the conveyer belt that much easier.
