Murdoch’s, of course! Looks like I should be watching that show. Is it any good or is it just good clothes? :)

It’s a good show, very interesting character development, and Filson does play a big role among other brands. The only thing I would change is less Native American woke BS, but that’s what the mute button is for :fonz:

Hello everyone! This is my first post on this forum, although I've been following this thread for a number of years. Like you, I love Filson bags, particularly ones from the old school Talon era - there's nothing else quite like them. I work in an office in NYC and travel for leisure, so I use Filson for both my profession carry as well as casual days. Currently in my collection I have:

- Tan original briefcase w/talon zippers
- Green talon suit cover
- Tan talon travel kit (i.e. dopp kit)
- A newer blue tote with zipper
- A tan toe without zippers from the 90s

I've also owned a number of other Filsons which I traded over the years.

I was hoping someone could be so kind to help me find a bag I've been looking for for a while: a vintage pullman. I know the bag's changed over the years, but I'm specifically looking for the smallest version they made during the talon era. I believe that was the "large" size, not the "extra large" size.

Thanks again everyone! I will post some pictures of my bags soon.

Welcome aboard! Looking forward to seeing your collection. Also nice to see an Otter Green appreciator. Team dOG!

You could most definitely pull off a Large Pullman as a Carry on. Throughout this forum we’ve had members successfully carry on Talon #222 Medium Duffels and LTB’s. The key is under packing slightly so you can contort the Twill so it fits the size requirements. We have at least one active member here who has traveled with a Large Pullman @speedy611 who can assist you with his experiences. I will definitely keep a close eye out for one on eBay. Are you searching for a Tan or Otter Green?

Seems like a lot of people have been interested in the Vans rucksack lately. Mine might be going up for sale in the near future…

btw, does anyone here have an OG sportsman in like new or better condition for sale?

Can European customers purchase the leather two-button grip you get on things like the dufflebag separately? I want to get one for my 256 so I can wedge things like a jumper or jacket under the straps.

I think Filson used to offer that service but not anymore. I’d try giving them a call. If you’re lucky they might send you one.

Thought that might be the way, but was interested to hear from others. Also hard to know how to describe it to find one on eBay or elsewhere. Would be happy to pay, surprised it isn't a webstore item (like the $90 straps).

I recently bought one at the Naperville store. $10. Works great, Reach out to customer service to inquire about it.

An option for your consideration. Keep in mind this one is of the YKK Era, but appears to be a first edition. I am going off the underside of the leather and the included padless shoulder strap. The price is certainly right too when you factor in the free shipping.

This might not be Otter Green, but appears to be a much rarer color (Brown)

I did see this. Know it’s a long shot but aiming for a lower price range given I’ve seen it come up lower every few months but didn’t need/want it at the time ha.

No worries, hold out for what you want and the price you want to pay. That method has rewarded me handsomely in the past, and one of those bags was this....unfortunately in this case it wasn't the #266. I paid $370 but the condition was as close to new as you could get without tags. The best deal I've ever experienced is still the famous Otter Green Talon #257, bought for $294. The condition was as new as the #266, despite me being the 3rd owner, and arguably being from the mid 1990's.

That being said, my Sportsman was still over $120 less then the newer Sportsman Utility Bag Filson currently sells on their website.
