That flask looks like it was used as target practice with a .22LR..........I like it. :fonz: Nice grab!! I still like mine though, not because it's a Filson x Stanley Collab, but because it was completely free. For those of you that remember, I had a very negative experience with Filson's fulfillment dept. last December and they rectified it with a $50 gift certificate.
By the time I decided I really liked yours, OMG, they were sold out everywhere. Like you, I prefer it over the current offering. I do have the plain black Stanley. Solid piece of kit, that.

Don't make me feel bad. At the time, I really struggled between the two flasks because they were, essentially, the same price. Ultimately, I got the Legacy flask because the (fake) retail price was greater. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Legacy and do not at all regret my purchase, but I really admire the simplicity of the Vermonter. At $80, it is an absolute no-brainer.

The corked one is the American Classic, I believe. It came with the gift box, bag and a regular cork as a second cork. Last week, after I purchased the Sierra deal, I found the American Classic on eBay for a good price. Then, as luck would have it, I remembered I had a $25 eBay coupon that was expiring in a couple of days. I had no other use for it. So, viola!

I’m going to use the corked one mostly as decoration, I think. There will always be a special occasion to use it though, I am sure.

I really love that hammered one, BTW.

Dare to be different, I meant it as a compliment. If I had a choice, I'd probably be more inclined to go with yours.

It was out of stock this afternoon.

I totally understand Fueco’s comments on these. I do. Yet, there is something that draws me to them. They have cachet.

Let us know your thoughts when you get it.

Not trying to break up the flask convo... I recently took a trip to the Upper Peninsula to get out, do some fishing, see old friends, etc. I took the compartment bag to hold cameras, lenses, etc. I hadn't used it for that purpose yet. While it was a bulky to hike with, it was great to have in the front seat in the truck for quick stops/photo opps. It also made switching lenses or cameras super convenient while carrying it. I just had to take a glamour shot...

just want to confirm: this stamp basically means that this product (computer sleeve) was constructed by FRD and not by the main production people?

All, this post got lost in the flask discussion yesterday. I don't know the answer, FilsonDude. I have one of these (not that I have used it in six months because I no longer go anywhere, I digress). I see nothing special about the construction that would require the hand of an "artist" as opposed to a leather seamstress/sewer.

Disclaimers: It is a special piece simply because it is simple and beautiful leather. The line between sewer and artist at Filson is likely not so absolute. I'm sure they are all artists in many ways, some more than others.

Just my guess here, .... I expect whomever has the skills sewing leather are the people doing it and the embossing is just a stamp, no real magic involved. I don't think the stamp signifies as much as we would like it to.

I thought maybe they’d be small side projects during their downtime. When they don’t have any bags to rebuild or they want to switch it up.

Was thinking it also applied to products with the Workshop stamp

Agreed, just a simple sleeve but the leather is awesome.
Picked it up cheap preowned. It’s way too big for my iPad mini though - time to get a bigger tablet😛

What would you recommend to treat the leather on the computer sleeves? I picked up a used one recently and it needs some "refreshing" on some spots.
