Vegetables, protein-rich and fat-rich foods will all help you feel full. If you can eat two chicken breasts but still feel hungry, try adding more fat to your meal.

Eating high-volume foods teaches the stomach to stretch whenever food is introduced. Inversely, eating low-volume foods makes the stomach feel filled faster.

There was a great documentary on competitive eaters that showed a competitive eater's stomach almost instantly stretching to massive sizes when a hot dog was eaten, whereas with a normal person's stomach is only minorly stretched to accomoodate the expected food. The normal eater's stomach also emptied its contents faster than the competitive eater's. Both were not overweight.

I shouldn't have said 'foods', since the volume of food itself is really the causative agent. It doesn't matter much if it's hot dogs or iceberg lettuce. The stomach stretches to accommodate food, and will not be trained to stretch much if it normally doesn't have to stretch for a meal.

It's pretty easily felt: eat only high-calorie:low volume ratio foods (cheese, nuts, most fats, whatever) for a week or so then try to eat a lot of higher-volume foods.

+1 to the guy who said psyllium husk. Other than that eat copious amounts of brocoli and drink a liter of water with every meal.

This conditions the stomach to stretch more and has little effect on actual appetite (which is mostly unrelated to the fullness of the stomach).
