I've seen some discussion of Filippa K here, and I know a few people like them (kunk is the only one I can think of atm), so I thought I'd post that the SS09 collection is up on their website. http://www.filippa-k.com/collection/man

Here's a (crappy) version of their runway show. A much better one is available on the site.

The two things that caught my eye are this sky-blue trench and a greyish button-up with white sleeves: (EDIT: Some problems with direct linking... they're attached)

Also, has anyone been to the new store in San Francisco?

thanks for posting. not a great runway brand, but IMO, for basics at their relatively affordable pricepoint, they are tough to beat.

I have a special place in my heart for Filippa K. For me, the collections are better realized than brands like Acne. One of my favorite grey hoodies is a pullover one from SS06 with darts to give the hood shape when worn down. The slightly boxy cut really contrasts well with the skinnier jeans popular then, and also works with anti-fit jeans. IMO, it is this attention to detail along with attention to silhouette that makes it more interesting than many of the mid-priced Swedish brands.

Also, the SF store has a blog. Nothing on it, really, but...

I was about to get excited for my SF trip but it looks like we get most of their best men's collection items in Seattle already between Blackbird and Kuhlman.

You are forgetting that apart from Selfedge, if you are into Japanese denim and workwear, there is MAC, which is arguably one of the top 10 retailers in the USA. Harputs market is decent, but not at the same level.

Shoe shopping is better there than in Seattle but for clothes, yeah, everything I want is just down the block.

Hows the fit?

I've always liked the look, they seem to put out decent knits/outerwear at good prices, but I am always wary of a brand that doesn't offer XS.

Pretty slim but not too skinny, if you had come to the last Seattle dinner on Queen Anne I would have shown you.

FW08 definitely went to Filippa K but I'd give SS09 to Acne.

I only have the Filippa K storm jacket, but its become my favorite jacket. I really wish that, considering the brand's price point, they really up their quality a little bit. The zippers on my jacket seem cheap, and a seam in the lining has already torn. This is from light wear less than 1 season.
