Never got a chance to go this past Xmas break. Did manage to visit the rest of the Fort though. Market! Market! for the win. For the epic win.

I liked that outdoor store at the Fort......like an REI...blasting air conditioning might have helped. Team Manila gear in there was pretty nice for T-shirts, etc.

And Fiamma for afterhours!

I was supposed to go this month...but went to another destination. So, my next visit is in February 10'. You gotta love a +5 story value priced mall!

ugh, everything garish and hipster that I dislike about manila fashion (actually not fashion, garish is what many people pass off as style in our parts sadly too often). So Manila-based posters (bbaquiran and acidicboy I'm looking at you) is Theodore's worth stopping by at all? Are there any decent stores at all in Manila these days? Being back in December I wasn't too impressed, even with the High Street area. Or am I missing something?

Nope, you're not missing anything. There are a few stores with Ernest Sewn and APC, and Levi's has recently begun to carry a few LVC items but otherwise, it's either garish eurotrash or hipster wannabe crap.

I've recently gotten in touch with a local tailor who has access to high quality selvage denim, chambray, and other fabrics. He made me this shirt from Cone Mills chambray:

<---- Filipino. Born and raised here in Chicago. I also don't speak or understand tagalog but will probably learn eventually.

I met and worked with a Filipino Salesian priest in East Timor years ago - one of the most inspiring and admirable people I have ever had the privilege to be near.

What were you doing teaching at A de Z? My family wants me to be back home for a year after graduation and I think I would like that as well, I was thinking of maybe going for some low-level lecturer position at ADMU for English, because I'm loath to teach at my high school full of cocky chinese kids

am thinking it would be an interesting change of pace before heading off to grad school.
