I received the same postcard.  I went to both the Connecticut Avenue and Mazza Gallerie locations last night.  What a disappointment.  All Filene's added was a bunch of underwhelming Malo pieces, many of which looked like they were anticipating a Miami Vice revival, and some very ugly Jil Sander shoes.

I hope the Bergdorf/Barney's shipment (arriving second week of April) is much better.

I was at the Conn. Ave Filene's yesterday. I liked some of the Oxxford suits (but not for $999), but didn't see anything else worth buying (but, I may be back when all those Borrelli shirts go on sale from their current $149). (There's still tons of Borrelli, including suits.)

According to Kofi, Barney's and Bergdorf's are both expected to arrive in the first week of April. Unclear if that means the sale will begin that week or the following week. Either way, a minimum of 3 weeks away. Give your credit card a rest.

The ad in today's Post (A Section) suggested a new markdown on designer items would be starting today. It was not enough of an incentive to get me over there....

You should have been in Boston if you were an Oxxford fan. $800 during the sale and the store had the most beautiful selection of Oxxfords I have ever seen in stock there -- really gorgeous three season fabrics in interesting but subtle patterns, weaves, and hands. A lot of beautiful brushed wool/cashmere blends. I tried a couple on just to feel the coats on my shoulders.

We had that too here in DC -- lots of Oxxfords selling for $800 during the suit sale last week.  All Manhattan II models.  Nice suit, but not quite enough to get me to bite.
