Probably heading over there after lunch for the first time, to see if they can do some work on a suit I've had hanging in the closet for some time. Does anybody know what the payment options are? Also, is payment up-front, or at pick-up?

As an aside, are there any sales worth checking out in Georgetown?

Payment occurs when you picked up the altered suit. I believe Field accepts credit cards, personal checks, and cash. The charges are not transparent (although Will can probably give you an itemized list of alterations and their cost if you wanted), but if you are going to Field, presumably cost is a secondary concern.

I would call before going. The elder Field is currently undergoing some health difficulties that have prevented him from working, and Will may be out of the shop checking on him.

so I went this afternoon. Got the younger Field, who I thought was very friendly. Dropped off two suits. He told me to give him a call in about 2-3 weeks, to check on the status. We'll see how they go.

Also swung by the Polo store. Nothing much going on, nobody offered me a sale or anything - although I just breezed in and out quickly, before heading . I didn't see any purple label merchandise (no edward greens).
