Feedback on jacket fit

Hi,

I have a jacket that I'm not 100% satisfied with and how it fits in the back. I have marked the area where the fabric creates these "waves".

The other picture shows what I'm after, with a straight drop. Do you have any ideas if this is something a tailor could fix and why the fabrics look like this?

Maybe the fabric is thin enough that it doesn't drape well enough to hide the lining?

The jacket's shoulders are too wide for you. You can see excessive buddling on the back. As seen in the image with the correct fit, the back doesn't have any puddling, indicating it is not too big and doesn't have any horizontal wrinkles, hence the jacket isn't too small. Now for the lower part of the body, I think this wrinkling is caused by the jacket's waist is too large, thus as it tapers, there is too much excess material. I would recommend getting a jacket, whose shoulder length exceeds 0.5-1 in over your shoulder bone. If the jacket exceeds this, chances are it is too big. I also want to add that the heavier the fabric, the better it drapes, so one can sometimes get away with jackets slightly too large for them. The thinner the fabric, the more it exposes the jacket's imperfections.Tailoring the shoulders is complicated and expensive, so I don't recommend doing this. If you really want to hang on to this jacket, then I would have the sides tailored at least.
