Just wanted to relay a little feedback about this seller, bebmak. Take from it what you will.
I bid on his paid of Sandons, then asked what shipping was to the U.S. He said 20 GBP. Not ridiculous, though not amazing. However, it is almost $40 with today's exchange rates, and to make a long story short, I decided to retract my bid about 5 minutes after it had been placed, and right after he wrote back to me about the shipping.
It is worth noting that my "bid retraction" may very well have been against Ebay policy, though who knows. It's probably not worth getting into since his "CROCKETT AND JONES CONNAUGHT CHESTNUT UK 7 E lobb" are against Ebay's keyword spamming policy. In any event, that was the position. Right or wrong, people retract bids on Ebay. And I did it here.
30 seconds later I get an email:
"Whats going on with the retraction,I dont think entered wrong amount is valid when you entered £280,please show some transparency.
Carl"
Then, 11 minutes later:
"DON'T BE SHY!!!!"
I hadn't planned on responding, but ultimately did after this second email, saying:
"No shyness, shipping is just too much.
Good day,
zj"
To which I get the response:
"Whats the shipping on your Bruno Magli's to the UK?
By the way if you took the time to read the ad it tells you worldwide shipping is £20,£2 less than what it costs me to send them."
[For what it's worth, this is completely false. Nowhere did it say worldwide shipping in the ad. However, that's not really the point Im trying to make here.]
Then, 5 minutes later:
"Oh and another thing Nick Anderson charges £18 which you will gladly pay but you won't pay £20.I bet your wife loves living with you!!!"
Anyway, take from this back-and-forth what you will, I just wanted to put it out there for SF members to determine whether they want to do business with this seller, as Ebay feedback usually does not paint the full picture. As I say, my bid retraction may very well have been wrong, but would that justify this seller's foaming-at-the-mouth reaction to a potential customer...?
Well, there it is.
