So, if you have something shipped from out of the country and it ends up in Fedex "clearance delay" hell, does that mean you are doomed to pay exorbitant customs fees? Argh!

thanks. fingers crossed. though it is hard to be patient when shoes you have waited six weeks for are a few miles from your house but the bastards won't bring them to you!

No, I get hit with the fees when things sail right through customs.

You might want to give them a call in case they need more info from you.

I recently ordered some shoes that were delayed for a day in customs. I thought for sure I'd have to pay fees, but I didn't.

Expect $30 in fees plus whatever the actual customs/duty is (around 8-12% for shoes).

FWIW, DHL fees on a recent order from Tricker's ebay shop were $6.
I think they screwed up the assessment though and miscategorized the shoes. Not worth the effort to try and get them to fix it since the difference is about $12.

Fedex may charge you a fee for "processing" the duty. There's no telling what that will be.

One of the many benefits of "welted footwear."

How is it that you don't pay any fees if the goods are delivered by USPS but have to pay if they are delivered by FedEx and UPS? What's the deal here, how do they operate?
