Feasibility of replacing collar felt

My sport jacket has a collar felt color that I don't quite appreciate. Would a tailor be willing to replace this felt with a different colored material or is this something they typically stay away from (if it's not worth the trouble or if it won't come out well, etc.)?

And if so, does anyone have a general idea as to how much it would cost?

Clarification: Purchased a M2M blazer from Indochino and it was lined blue but felted in green. (Yes, aware of ongoing Indochino quality discussion, but at this point I've already committed to the jacket and it fits quite well otherwise). I'd like some uniformity in color and instead of getting it remade, thought it would be easier to refelt it if it wasn't cost prohibitive.

Based on popcorn emoticon, I'm assuming I posted some sort of StyleForum faux pas? If so, I apologize in advance....

Thanks for the reply. Here are some pictures of the jacket & felt:

it's linen, in case that matters. Here it is, first tried on:

Thanks again.

Not to hijack the thread, but how much would it cost to replace the white colored canvas in my sports jacket with camel colored canvas. White canvas just screams, "This **** was mass produced in Beijing!"

All joking aside. Who would ever see the under-collar of your jackets?

I think you should have your brain replaced.

It can be done easily. It means the undercollar has to be replaced, not just the felt. Of course, why would you, but then, why not. Possible reasons not to: the top collar has no inlay. That shouldn't be a problem, but could be. It's linen and depending on the weave, you might end up seeing traces of the alterations.

Yes, I understand the implication, but I'm more curious what prompted it.

I guess I don't understand the idiocy of asking a forum that I know consists of tailors and others who know tailored clothing whether I should bother remedying a mistake the manufacturer made via my tailor or resolving the fact that it's not going to be fixed. It has nothing to do with popping my collar (and even if it did, I don't see how that calls for disparaging remarks), but the jacket I ordered having the actual specifications I ordered it to.

But then again, it's the internet, right? And on the internet, we can be rude to whomever we feel like without reason or consequence? So I guess in that sense, let's all just carry on.

Your last comments say it was a manufacturing mistake. If it is, send it back for correction.

If you you change this on your own, choose a tailor who is competent at coat making and you will improve the jacket. The present construction is very basic to poor. The collar has to be opened, new undercollar melton (not felt) cut. A tailor will add collar linen which I doubt exists in the collar now. The issue is that the top collar is made/finished and everything has to be cut to match the existing sizing/shape. If your tailor cuts a new undercollar and linen and pads the collar it is at least 2 hours or more of work but an improvement in the make and the way the collar will form to your neck.
I like the green, leave it.

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback, both on the construction and work required and on the color of the felt.

I'm going to take your advice, I think. Sounds like a lot more work than necessary. Which is what I was initially concerned with.

I'm sure that it can be done. I'm not so sure why you would waist money on something so silly.
