i'm packing my clothes right now
need to pack at least 1 suit, several dress shirts
an overcoat
and then some casual clothes (winter weather stuff though)

i'm probably going to have to iron most my stuff once i get there
but trying to see what the best way to pack would be
do most people roll up the dress shirts?

I don't roll, just fold. When I arrive, I hang everything. Suits recover quickly and the front part of the shirt seen behind a jacket and tie isn't that damaged during travel.

I fold ... and pack as close to departure as possible. I unpack promptly upon arrival.

Wear the coat, fold the trousers and pack them with the rest of your crap.

Why exactly don't you want to wear a suit while flying?

well i guess i might just wear my suit for the flight then...
this will actually make more room in my luggage for casual clothes

hopefully i won't stink it up from wearing it for so long
and not spill anything on it either

If you're packing dress shoes or any type of shoes as well as casual tees, you can roll up the tees and stuff them into the shoes.

It helps my shoes from being flattened on one side, and saves space as well.

dont wear a suit for a 12 hour flight youll be uncomfortable and the suit will look worse that had it been in a suitcase. if you dont have luggage that allows for a suit to be in a suit bag without folding it, then fold it nicely put a dry cleaning bag around it and place it in the middle level of the suitcase, clothes under it and some on top of it. i find this works best. unpack and hang proptly. have a safe flight.

My favorite way to pack is to have someone else do it for me
