To play off of the "Top 5 Marley Songs" thread, what is your favorite reggae band? Mine is Toots and Maytals.

The Upsetters!

Mighty Diamonds are up there.
The Congos also.

I usually follow producers and singers, but bands need love, too.

'Heart of the Congos' is a masterpiece.

Here are some solo artists too:

Horace Andy
Max Romeo
Augustus Pablo
The Meditations (did backing vocals for Marley)
Junior Murvin (the Clash covered his 'Police and Thieves')
Keith Hudson (legendary producer who released the first dub record 'Pick A Dub')

The Mighty Diamonds Right Time LP is languishing at this record store a couple blocks from where I am typing this; only $5 but I have it on CD already.....

All Reggae is welcome! I should have said "artist."

I also really like the Israel Vibrations.

Frankly, I am surprised you are not into rocksteady, what with the skinhead connection and what have you. The Trojan Rocksteady box is killer. I was listening to that yesterday and everyday.
