Cannot think of one I really like but Grand Prix has some great shots, plus cameos by some of the great drivers of the era.

Though not technically a racing movie, Thunder Road with Robert Mitchum is a killer flick with killer cars. Think Bullitt for the 1950s.

again not technically a racing movie, but the driver (1978, walter hill) is a classic. ryan o'neal is cool as ****, isabelle adjani is sexy as ****, and bruce dern sports a cool 'fro. all good.
