Now that we are in the new year, I was wondering what is everyone's favorite clothing purchase of 2008. Mine is actually fairly simple, I bought a pair of Jcrew corduroys that I've been wearing as much as I can. I've never owned a pair of corduroys before and didn't really think I would enjoy them this much. I've also bought a bunch of cufflinks this year which I really enjoy, particularly some of the Kent Wang's I've picked up.

So what are your favorite purchases?

Hard to say. By number of wearings, I'd say my bitter chocolate grenadine tie. It's my go-to solid tie when I need to solve a complex shirt and jacket pattern equation.

Junya Watanabe x Lacoste jacket made from polo shirt cotton, originally overdyed pastel pink, which a friend later overdyed to a medium purple

Bonus: a thrifted pair of Edward Green black 202s, which may change my shoe collection for the better

Probably when I bought 16 Peter Millar cashmere sweaters new for $10 a piece (store was going out of business). Several of them were 5 or 600 MSRP

A Polo IV (3roll2B, ticket pocket, double vents, made by Cornelliani) tweed jacket I bought here, in the B&S forum. Thick, scratchy, rusty brown herringbone, with a subtle red and green windowpane, extremely warm. The most versatile jacket I have. I can wear it with jeans, odd flannel trousers. Just with a shirt under it it is perfect for warmer days, or with shirt, cardigan and a coat on top it becomes the perfect winter outfit, both in terms of style and warmness. And everyone is complimenting me about it. And the sweetest part is that purchase, shipping and alterations cost me a total of 200 euros
