Heading to Vegas on Sunday for a few days with friends (liquor convention, **** yeah). I'm letting them decide which clubs/bars/etc.. we do on some nights. But I intend to get some gambling out of my system.

How I roll:
a) Sports Book - I need to place some bets for the upcoming baseball season, and my father's asking me to get in some Kentucky Derby pool bets for him
b) Craps
c) Blackjack - maybe/maybe not. I used to have all the hit/stand combos memorized, but I haven't played in several years
d) Roulette - mindless fun

Have a 3br condo behind the strip (Wyndham Great Desert resort, I think) already so I'm not looking for immediate comps (heard these we were getting rarer in Vegas anyway), but more of an atmosphere/good drinks/let me smoke at the table thing.

Sportsbook:Las Vegas Hilton. Huge sportsbook area, secret parking lot right in back where you can open a door from outside and be right in the sportsbook! http://www.lvhilton.com/Play/Casino/Race-Sports-Book Craps: The Orleans or Downtown. Blackjack: Planet Hollywood at the pleasure pit!!! Roullette: This is a woman's game, but if you must, I'd say anywhere on the strip.

Sports book - Caesars. This is the THE spot on the strip. Big, lots of TVs, lots of excitement. Seating is lax as are drink tickets. Last two times I was there I saw pete rose sitting front and center. Kind of sad...

Everything else - OSHEAS. If the drunken leprachaun midget doesnt lure you in, the cheesy games will.

I play blackjack and craps mostly and roulette if my fiancee is with me.

I liked gambling during the day at the Wynn, but at night I think the Bellagio had a better atmosphere. Caesars is kind of depressing because there is so much empty space on the floor, but the sports bar seemed pretty large.

The Venetian where we stayed wasn't bad either, I'd recommend craps or blackjack there as well. I think that is the only place I won anything.

The sportsbook at both Caesars and the Bellagio are both excellent.
For good eye candy you could try the Hard Rock - a little off-the-strip but it attracts a different crowd.
