I think for the price the Waldorf is a great shoe.

They look... but in reality, they are one of the finest by John Lobb London.

i hate to tell you this but, this shoe if not a oxford it is a derby!, as it is open laced - oxfords should be closed laced!

Thank you for the information. I should contact Bostonian's marketing department as they sell it as an Oxford.

No need to be pedantic, even Alden uses the classification of "Dress Oxfords" to mean non-slipons with Balmorals and Bluchers both being included.

norweigian is the style of shoe which are general casual or country shoe there was a thread on AAAC recently asking about the history of them, such as half brogue, toe cap, galosh etc

it's not about being pedantic....it's about understanding each other.... and the black one is not an oxford....

i was not being perdantic - i was just trying to share the info with a fellow forumate! and just because Alden says something does not mean they are right they are just trying to sell shoes! nothing more they dont care if they get it right or wrong!
