A Christmas Story is good, but I feel its overhyped; especially when it's always played for a 24 hour period before Christmas on Christmas Eve.

My favorites:

It's a Wonderful Life
A Christmas Carol (1951 with Alastair Sim as Scrooge)
Muppet Christmas Carol

I like Capra, I like Stewart, but this film drives me nuts.

Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation....

I also really liked The Ref, although generally I don't like Leary.

It has huge nostalgic value for me and is the original source of my musicianship today. Massively underrated and unknown except in the UK as I came to find out. Kudos, Versace.

Yeah, I agree with all the above.

That YouTube link is only something like 9 mins. I have the original on my computer. I believe it's 25 mins or so. You can buy it on amazon, or download the torrent from isohunt.

I've owned the VHS copy since '85 and then the DVD once it came out in the Father Christmas/Snowman set. P.S. If you want the soundtrack, I've got it in mp3 or m4a form. PM me.

I've often imagined it as to how my father's christmas was growing up. He, too, got a Red Ryder BB rifle for christmas. I did, too, at 11.

I used to love A Christmas Story when I was a kid. As a teenager, I spent many a Christmas watching Die Hard.
