My collection of sneakers is mainly CP’s with a few saucony and Nike mixed in for my gym/run. I tend to lean toward the minimalists look with sneakers...not really into the off white, yeezy, Balenciaga craze (not would I consider any of them beaters).

With that said I don’t like wearing my CPs to concerts, festivals, etc. planning on picking up some beaters. Something that’ll look good with shorts and denim.. and will not worry about getting scuffed up.

I tend to like mids...Leaning toward high chucks specifically the cdg version or one of the vans mid collabs.

  • Spalwart Special Low
  • Jack Purcell Signature / Chuck 70
  • Salomon Speedcrosses (if mostly outdoors)
In that order of preference.

I know JP doesn't have their "signature" line anymore, and I haven't bought any since they dropped it, but they were the best back when they were around. Wouldn't be surprised if some of the ones still being made remain at that standard.

Jack Purcell’s are definitely my go-to beater shoes. They used to be white, but now have a patina I can only describe as well-travelled … where did I go that had blue paint? BTW, I also have a “nice” pair my wife bought me :) … I take very good care of them.

Any pair of GATs -- I think they're the most versatile, don't look out of place with even an unstructured blazer.

I had a pair of Stans but tbh the forefoot was a little narrow. My current favorites are Epaulet GATs; about half the price of MMMs but probably 80 percent of the quality, if not more. You can also get "real" GATs for under 100 euros...

I've found that really unstructured sneakers like Purcells make my feet hurt after a couple of hours.

I love the Adidas Ultra Boost! They are my favorite everyday sneakers simply because they are so damn comfortable! They also look real amazing an can hence pull off not just as a running shoe but also as a sick lifestyle sneaker!
