I think a lot of folks here are familiar with places like Drake's and The Armoury HK (yes, I know there's a U.S. store too). But I thought it might be fun to see some plugs and recommendations for your favorite menswear shops in the U.S. Go ahead and hit me with your top stores!

Possibly Paul Stuart in New York, although for me they
have strayed too far from their Ivy roots. Nevertheless,
they offered a wide selection of clothing and accessories
the last time I visited in 2015. I was in NYC earlier this month
and didn't bother to go to the store.

Another store is Cable Car Clothiers in SanFrancisco. It is
a very eccentric retailer. Stepping out of a time machine,
it's always 1958 at CCC. Ultra traditional Ivy clothing,
Hats, badger shaving brushes, walking sticks, a barber shop.
For a short time they offered Drakes shirts. Now run by the
grandson of the legendary founder Charles Pivnik, who could
be found at the store into his 90s.

Just visited their website and clicked on this abomination.

Outerwear selection was pretty good, primarily Barbour, Baracuta and Gloverall.

I have a pair of the Dress Fast shoes - excuse me, "dress sneakers" - from Hubbard. And while I'd never think to wear them with a suit, they are very comfortable and look quite sharp with denim.

They used to carry Alden, but there has been an Alden store on their block for
close to 20 years. Could be that under the grandson's management, they dropped
the line.
