Fashion secrets?

I don't know if this has ever been discussed but I was on another blog (Fashionista) a few days ago and the poster asked her viewers if they had any fashion secrets. Since about 98% of her viewers are women, I got the expected ("I'm a size 4 and I feel like a whale"), the completely unexpected (one confessed to allegedly stealing over $10K worth of goods at a major high end department store and one supposedly gave Marc Jacob's right hand man a BJ in a backroom during a show) and the in between ("I'm a lawyer but secretly I want to be a fashion editor"). I'd like to hear your most obscure, anal, random secrets that maybe some of us can take up, reconsider or even scratch our heads to.

My secret is usually on sundays, I'll plan out my outfits for the week into my blackberry so I don't forget...and I'm a get up and go kind of guy in the morning so it's easier that way

#2 I hate that at times I'll feel weird being in an environment where either my friends, family or co-workers are not as well dressed and I'll feel guilty sometimes of being too over dressed...even if I am casual

#3 Always looking for inspiration, I browse The Sartorialist, Face Hunter, etc and store inspiring pictures for future reference. The same goes for the mags as well. I'll tab pages

All of the above. I scan magazines for inspiration, but do not often find it. I clip articles and pics from newspapers and mags, keep them on file.

I'm making good progress in defining my own personal style. It boils down to lots of solids, subtle variation, and one or at most two accents, i.e. a watch, colorful T or scarf for some contrast. Only natural fabrics and materials, must be high quality.

I'd guess that Alan Flusser's fundamentals are paramount:

Dressing well depends on two pillars - colour and proportion

Learn which colours enhance your complexion and the proportion that fits your personal architecture

The face is the destination to which one's attire should escort the beholder's attention.

One would think this intuitive, but look around and you'll discover that it must be a "secret."

I've been told I should be a model, and have been given cards by agents....that's fashion right?

I've thoroughly dismissed the notion until now; "school and job are more important..." . I also don't really feel like losing 15 lbs of fat and muscle to get into that "model shape" that's so desirable in the industry, although it wouldn't be terribly difficult.

Maybe I should give it a shot, could prove to be interesting and slightly enjoyable which would be an improvement to my current situation...

This isn't even a "fashion" secret. I fail.

It's all about those connections man and it might not be directly linked to the original subject but it's still along the same lines
