Fashion Lessons from Easter in San Francisco

Every year in Dolores Park near my place, SF does Easter up proper. Here are some of the lessons on sartorial excellence I learned.


Hats

Outdoing the tablecloth is a must.

Matching your accessories, like your hat and bag, can complete the look.

Never wear the same hat as a friend, unless you play baseball together.

Choose one piece of flair to shake up an otherwise well put together outfit.

Green and orange are a killer combo.

Jackets

The navy blazer will always be in style, but also consider navy netting when you don't want to be quite as formal.

Eeeek! Shoulder dimples can ruin everything.

Don't be afraid to experiment with pinstripes.

Wide peak lapels add character to any jacket.

It's kinda hard to see it, but I actually really did like this guy's jacket. A casual light blue SC with windowpanes. Will be on the lookout for something like it.

Consider a "natural shoulders" look from time to time.

Above all, stay classy. Single button. Shawl. T-shirt.

Miscellaneous

Add a little patriotism to your look.

Do not drink bleach.

Your dog likes to be dapper too.

A versatile pair of white wings goes good with almost anything.

Jesus doesn't like a showoff, and neither do your friends.

I took plenty of pics of that and other less-than-safe-for-work scenes-- and actually the winner ("Jesus F'ing Christ") was suiting up right next to us on the lawn. I just figured this particular forum wasn't necessarily composed of the proper target audience for those pics
