    Nice.

Goya also portrayed the criminal element in some of his work.

If you like the feel of these photos, check out Greg Crewdson -goes to movie production lengths to set up still photo shots. Creepy ambience.

I love the creepy, off center, and the perverse, in art. Remember those Venus Paradise Coloring Sets?? I never followed the rules . . . always chose my own colors, instead of the ones the manufacturer, suggested. I turned out some truly, eerie pictures. Always thought El Greco's paintings, were somewhat weird.[IMG]

My ultimate is still the French photographer Guy Bourdin: [IMG] [IMG] I also like the Teutonic S&M fortitude of Helmut Newton. Interestingly enough, another one of my favorite photographers, Diane Arbus was a fashion photographer before turning independent.

yeah, i was going to mention diane arbus in this context as well. also cindy sherman. both had an eye for the creepiness inherent in the mundane.

.... Remember those Venus Paradise Coloring Sets?? ....

now i'm curious. is the Venus Paradise set any different from the regular paint-by-number stuff we all know and love?

The one I'm talking about, used colored pencils. Not oils . . . but, I remember paint by number, as well.
