I'm not sure I can internalize the procedure outlined here on just one read. I will have to bookmark this for future reference. Thank heaven for the internet.

Yeah tough one, not sure I could have figured it out for myself.

Remember that you can always cut them shorter, but not make them longer, [...]

-now that should qualify for an inane-post-of-the-day on devil's island.

The site says it's "A Web Series About Dressing Like a Grownup," but their first video is basically about blue jeans as a fetish object. Selvedge, blah, blah, hand wash in your tub and only when they really stink, blah, blah. Guys: GROWNUPS WASH THEIR JEANS IN A MACHINE ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER DARKS.

Their logo prominently features the words "Put On," so maybe it's an elaborate joke.

Its a good idea if you're on a budget and have some pants that you like but they're too short. Learn how to sew and its free.

The blog is run by Jesse Thorn, he goes by YoungAmerican on this site. The premise of the post may seem rather simple, but they do a pretty kick ass job at most of the stuff they do and Jesse has always had some pretty helpful tips for both clothing and in producing media. I'm not really interested in the article at hand, but I wouldn't be bashing their site because, as I said, they really do a pretty good job overall and contribute a lot to the community.

This summer my sons just went to the thrifts bought a pair of old soft RL Chinos and cut them off where suitable. They then left the threads loose punk style - so I sent them to the Chinese alteration shop. They reckon they are the most comforatble shorts they have ever worn.

Your sons share clothes? Hand me downs I get, but active sharing as a regular thing seems odd.

They're Siamese twins. Hence the Chinese alterations shop.

I know this seems crazy to some, but for many, this had never occurred to them. Especially the part about it cost ten bucks or so to have a pro do it.
